SAS is Scandinavia’s leading airline, serving 119 destinations in Europe, Asia and the USA. In 2015, just over 28 million passengers travelled with SAS. The company has around 11,000 employees and in 2016 reported sales of nearly SEK 40 million.

The challenge

Nordic mobile solutions specially adapted to match SAS’s needs in different parts of its organisation. The services were also specially tailored to meet the need for efficient administration, follow-up, reporting etc. in the different countries of Scandinavia.

The assignment

  • To conduct an in-depth market and price analysis
  • To produce a procurement framework, including specification of requirements
  • To produce a business case as a basis for decision at management level
  • To act as expert advisor and provide negotiation support throughout the negotiation process right up to final agreement

The outcome

The outcome was measurable in terms of the opportunities for substantial cost efficiencies that not only delivered direct savings, but also created more standardised solutions enabling objectives to be achieved through simplifying administration, that is to say the indirect costs of both parties.
